L’ultimo album di Nathan Williams con gli Wavves risale al 2013 (Afraid of Heights), ma negli ultimi anni l’artista ha lavorato ad altri progetti insieme al fratello Kynan, come Sweet Valley e Spirit Club. Pare però che ora ci siano tutti i presupposti per l’uscita di un nuovo album della band, che dovrebbe intitolarsi V. Ad essere precisi, tutti i presupposti tranne forse il consenso dell’etichetta.
La Warner Bros. è infatti andata su tutte le furie dopo che Williams ha condiviso su Spotify il brano Way Too Much, senza un preavviso e soprattutto senza il permesso della nota major. Il buon Nathan però non è uno che si lascia sottomettere facilmente dalla tirannia dell’industria discografica e così ha iniziato ad attaccare l’etichetta a suon di tweet. L’artista ha addirittura rilanciato condividendo il brano anche su Soundcloud, per poi minacciare la WB di pubblicare un leak dell’intero album in caso di una rimozione del singolo.
